OUR VISION:
To preserve Native American cultures and tradions, through the teachings of Native languages, songs, dances, foods, oral history, and Native American natural history.
OUR PURPOSE:
To provide funding for teaching these cultural ways by traditional native practitioners and through funding publications of Native American cultural teachings.
OUR GOALS:
Cultural Preservation: This foundation is dedicated to the preservation of culture by providing matching funding for cultural projects in schools, youth and other organizations dedicated to cultural preservation of the Navajos and other Indian Tribes who wish to do likewise. Such projects may include learning the Navajo and other tribal languages, song and dance, story telling, games, food crafts, arts and crafts, herbs and medicinal plants,ect.
Historical Preservation: This foundation will be dedicated to the preservation of Navajo history by providing funds for historical researches, publications, periodicals, displays,ect.
Museum and Cultural Center: This foundation will provide funding for the establishment of a museum and cultural center, which will not only house the cultural and historical projects, but will display a Navajo village setting, botanical garden and provide cultural events. It will also provide tours and lectures for visitors throughout the Indian country. |
